Recently Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore, a member of the Knapheide party (He bought him, he owns him, he is liable) was mentioned by a statewide conservative news organization for property tax increases as well as wasteful spending of taxpayers dollars.    Please see the link below to read the whole story.

MOORE PUBLIC SAFETY LIES!!

     Kyle Moore has been promoting QTAP as his public safety plan to sell the residents of our community that he is not failing in public safety.   We have heard this in all his political ads, press conferences etc. He knows that the people of this community do not feel as safe as they did four years ago.  He has tried to twist and lie to us about crime statistics in an attempt to dismiss his failings on this subject.

     QTAP has merit.  If Chief Copley is on board, then we as a community should embrace this program.  Our professional chief has worked hard attempting to protect the citizens of this community.  We know that Chief Copley has put in tireless hours to ensure this program works.

Copley is recently quoted in a March 29, 2017, WGEM interview and article,

  "In order to get the Quincy Turn Around Program, or QTAP, running, QPD needs two more officers. Right now that's not in the plans." 

 "We had them originally in the budget that we're preparing for next fiscal year," Copley explained. "They've since been removed. I was directed to remove them from the budget."

What?   We thought this was the little mayors pet project?   He was going to actually make an attempt to work on public safety for the first time during his tenure!   That's what he has been telling us ever since his reelection began!   Now he pulls the funding for this program?  He wouldn't lie to us, would he?

But alas, the same WGEM article confirmed that Moore pulled the funding for this program.

"During Tuesday's mayoral debate, Mayor Kyle Moore touted the QTAP program as a way to combat the rising crime rate. However, he confirmed Wednesday, that as of now, the money needed to hire the officers for the program isn't in the budget."

MOORE HAS INTENTIONALLY TRIED TO DECEIVE YOU!

   HE HAS PULLED THE FUNDING FOR THIS PROGRAM IN THE 23 HOUR THINKING HE COULD SNEAK THIS ONE BY US!

SORRY CHIEF!   HE HAS LIED TO US TOO!

We have to admit, we made a mistake and have used the wrong language in regards to the Moore administrations reserves claim. We have been calling them "Fake" because after a snapshot of the reserve funds we believed that he had just depleted one in order to inflate another.

     In an effort to make sure we weren't making inaccurate statements in regards to the cities finance's, we consulted a CPA with expertise in governmental accounting and audits.   We requested that he look at the city audits from 2013 until present.  He presented us with a financial report card.  What he found was much, much, more than we had originally thought.  All the information from his report can be found on the City of Quincy's website at:  http://www.quincyil.gov/government/CityDepartments/comptrollers/financial-statements

As you can see from this report, the Moore administration has lied to us for 3 straight years!

MOORE FAKE RESERVES MEANS LESS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, PART 2

The Moore administrations fake reserves have reared their ugly head again!  A couple weeks ago it was fire engines breaking down three times in one week!  This past week we were once again collecting RECYCLE in garbage trucks because the Moore administration thinks it is more important to try to create his FAKE reserves then to fix taxpayers assets!

For those of you not in the know, we have been picking up RECYCLE quite a bit the past couple years with garbage trucks.  When this happens, we actually pay the vendor to take and sort the recycle instead of them paying us for the product!

   Several months this year alone, we have been paying the recycle company instead of them paying us!

Its has gotten so bad that this is how we now identify recycle trucks and garbage trucks!

IS THIS WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR WITH OUR INCREASED STICKER PRICES?  (remember, our garbage program is paid for by our real estate taxes, the recycle program is paid for by the stickers)

"Moore counters that VanCamp's "record is one of raising countless fees and taxes on local residents without restraint" while on the Quincy Park Board.

However, tax records indicate the tax rate for the Park District fell to 54.029 cents per $100 assessed valuation in the 2014 tax year, which was collected the year VanCamp went off the board. That rate was about 1.5 cents lower than the previous year."

And in one of Moore's recent POLITICAL ADS, Moore claims he is not a POLITICIAN after being in POLITICAL office for 8 years!!

For those of you who hadn't heard, our Fire Department had TWO engines break down on the same day this past Saturday.   This forced our Firemen to operate two backup trucks.   If one more engine goes down prior to these being fixed, one of our fire stations will be forced to close until the engines are fixed!

The Moore Administration cancelled the purchase of a new engine a couple years ago when they closed Station 6.  Moore wants to brag about his fake reserves while OUR equipment and public safety is deteriorating before our eyes!!

      For the past three and a half years, Kyle Moore has been running around claiming that he had the first balanced budget in Quincy history.   THIS IS A BLATANT LIE!!  Its about as factual as if we here at this site claimed to have created the internet!

      This last week for some reason he has decided to change his tune and claim he has the first balanced budget since 1999.   ONCE AGAIN A BLATANT LIE!   Why has Moore changed his story now?  Our best guess would be that one of Moores contributors David Nuessen got a little embarrassed from being asked why he didn't have a balanced budget (which he did) when he was mayor.  Moore decided it was best to change ONE LIE TO ANOTHER LIE!

     We decided to delve into this matter a little deeper and checked Moore's voting record when he was on the city council.   What we found was actually quite interesting.  Moore voted in favor of the Spring administrations budget in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013

     So either Moore voted for unbalanced budgets and is a hypocrite or HE IS LYING ONCE AGAIN!  No two ways around it!

     Quincy unfortunately is not the same community it was 4 short years ago.   If you haven't noticed the increase in violent crimes in Quincy over the last couple years then you have been living under a rock!

     Our town is fortunate to have one of the most professional Police Chiefs in Rob Copley that it has ever had!  Our Police Chief forewarned the Moore Administration that his department was down on officers because of retirements, transfers, etc.  The Chief pleaded with the Moore administration to replace them.   There was refusal to replace these officers by the Moore Administration leaving our city with 6 OFFICERS FEWER than previous administrations.

  The Moore administration was more concerned with his FAKE RESERVE numbers than giving our City police force the assets it needed to protect our community and its citizens.

THEN THE BOTTOM DROPPED OUT IN 2015 AND VIOLENT CRIME CONSUMED OUR TOWN!!

     Quincy Herald Whig December 30th 2015.  "A mixture of gun violence and beatings led to the bloodshed in Quincy."

    According to a January 22nd, 2016 Quincy Herald Whig Article "Violent crimes -- which the FBI classifies as murder, criminal sexual assault, assault and robbery -- increased 7.9 percent." in 2015.

According to www.neighborhoodscout.com our 2015 MURDER rate was 2 1/2 times the national average.  Our RAPE was twice the national average and our ASSAULT rate was just under twice the national average.

   QUINCY HAD 82 CRIMES PER SQUARE MILE!!!

   The national average that same year was 32.85 per square mile.

Our fine Police Chief Continued to ask the Moore Administration to let him hire those 6 officers.   Chief Copley once again lost his officers to the Moore Administrations FAKE RESERVES!

WHAT DID MOORES FAKE RESERVES GET US???

Quincy Herlad Whig, October 27, 2016.  "Even though we have not had the homicides (in 2016), we're still in the pattern that we were in," Copley said. "As of today, violent crime is up, I think, 3.5 percent.  (for those keeping notes...   7.9 plus 3.5 equals 11.4% violent crime increase over 2 years)

"What we're not having is homicides, and in my opinion the difference between 2015 and 2016 is luck. We've had a lot of shootings, stabbings and beatings that did not result in homicides."

Quincy Herald Whig, February 2, 2017.  Copley stated,  "The bottom line, is 2016 followed 2015's trend," he said. "We still had the shootings, we had the stabbings, we had the beatings and the robberies."

The Moore reelection propaganda machine is back in full swing.  Recently they decided to remind us about the "litter", debris, trash, garbage issue.   We would like to thank them for doing so!

Anyone else remember Moore's garbage debacle?  How we ended up with a hybrid system that costs the taxpayers more money?

The Moore administration proposed a 200% INCREASE for something we already pay for through our real estate taxes!!

A December 3rd 2013 Quincy Herald Whig article has some interesting insight.

According to the article, the city took in $625,000 from garbage collection.   The Moore administration stated there are 15,000 residential customers.  Moore preferred "company A" which wanted to charge $13.20 a month to be collected on our water bills.

Lets do some math.....     15000 customers multiplied by $13.20 a month equals $198,000.  Now we multiply that by 12 months and we get $2,376,000.

Moore wanted to raise OUR (the taxpayers) PAYMENT FOR GARBAGE from $625,000 to $2,376,000

THAT IS A %280 TAX INCREASE PROPOSAL!!

The Moore administration loves to brag that it has placed 4 million plus in cash reserves.   (A lie because he just shifted it from another line item)(more on that later)

Folks....   Its become real apparent that the Moore administration just don't get it!  This isn't the little mayors personal savings account.   THIS IS YOUR TAX MONEY!

The objective of City government is to provide services to our community.  Water, Sewer, Garbage, Public Safety, Streets, Snow removal, etc...

The City of Quincy is not a FOR PROFIT entity.   If it doesn't spend our tax money on SERVICE then it should be returned to us or our TAX RATES SHOULD BE LOWERED.

When your FIRE STATION was closed...

 OR...    The next time you hit a pothole in the street while the Moore administration brags about cash reserves.....

Recently former Congressman Aaron Schock has been charged with a 24 count grand jury indictment which included theft of government funds and fraud.  Schock appeared to be a substantial contributor to Kyle Moore.  Note:   the "18th District Republican Central Committee" was one of Aaron Schocks slush funds that is involved in these indictments.

Mayor Kyle Moore announced he was running for reelection yesterday at the Elks Club.  Thursday a City of Quincy Street sweeper conveniently showed up to clean the streets around the club.

In the recent election for Adams County Sheriff, former Quincy Mayor and self proclaimed local campaign guru, David Nuessen distributed the following campaign ad.

The Facts:

Brian Vonderhaar received a $10,000 contribution from Health Care Council of Illinois Political Action Committee.

The Accusation:

Nuessen claims that since Vonderhaar received a contribution from Health Care Council of Illinois  he was to become a puppet of Mike Madigan.  Nuessens reasoning was that the same PAC also gave a contribution to Mike Madigan so this somehow tied Vonderhaar to Madigan.  Nuessen also claimed that the money in this PAC came from Chicago.

The Ommisions:

David Nuessen failed to inform people that LOCAL State Senator Jil Tracy also received $5000 from this PAC in an uncontested Senate Race.   Nuessen also failed to inform people that this same PAC contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to former Republican House Minority leader Tom Cross.   He failed to inform people that this PAC is funded statewide and not just from the Chicago area.

The Flawed Logic:

If Health Care Council of Illinois donated to Madigan

and Health Care Council of Illinois donated to Vonderhaar

Then Vanderhaar is a puppet of Madigan.

If Health Care Council of Illinois donated to Madigan

and Health Care Council of Illinois donated to Jil Tracy

Then Tracy must also be a puppet of Madigan.

Hypothetical Example of Nuessens Flawed Logic:

Hypothetically David Nuessen decides to run for mayor again.

Conclusion:

Don't be like David!

BIG MONEY TRUCKING FIRM TRYING TO BUY SHERIFFS OFFICE???

     Recently there has been a lot of talk about campaign finance in the Adams County Sheriffs race.  The reason campaign finance comes into play during an election is the fear of influence these people, organizations, or companies may have over an elected official.   We must always ask ourselves a few questions in regards to this matter.   What does this entity want?  Why is this entity contributing?  There are good people, organizations, or companies that contribute to candidate for the right reasons and then there are the ones that expect something in return.

     Lets break down a couple of the contributions in this sheriffs race.   First off Sheriff VanderHaar recieved a $10,000 donation from Health Care Council of Illinois.   This is an organization that represents nursing homes across our state and within our community.  What could nursing homes in our area want from the Sheriffs Department?   On a day to day basis there is not much a nursing home could want from the Sheriffs department besides protection of its clients.  In our eyes this pretty much falls under the definition of what the Adams County Sheriffs Department is supposed to do.  Our elderly citizens whom can not protect themselves from bad elements deserve the protection of local law enforcement.  Sounds like this organization appreciates the service they have been receiving under Sheriff VanderHaars leadership.  What else could it be?

     Now lets look at the big money contributions Mr. McCoy received.  Mr. McCoy has received $13,394 from Sisbro Incorperated.  Sisbro is a local trucking firm for those of you not aware of what they do.  What could a trucking firm in our area want from the Sheriffs Department?  On a day to day basis this firms sends trucks out on our roads which are patrolled by the Sheriffs department for our citizens protection.

     Some corporations do good things and contribute to charities etc.  The bottom line though is they are owned by stockholders.  Stockholders care about one thing. PROFIT.  This leads us to ask why this corporations stockholder(s) is so concerned with Mr. McCoy becoming Sheriff? Its about their Profit/Loss margin.   What do they have to gain?  Regulating that their trucks are fit for the road can cost a trucking firm thousands of dollars in repair bills.  A few extra pounds overweight on a truck can net the corporation thousands of dollars over a years time.  Anytime an offense is caught by local law enforcement it in turn means higher insurance premiums for the trucking firm.  There are literals hundreds of ways in which our local Sheriffs department affects a trucking firm.

     Large political contributions are always considered a bad thing by average people on average incomes.  Campaigns cost large sums of money for radio and TV ads so we are forced to assess why these contributions are made, and what those giving them have at stake.  If their intention is good or bad.  On this race it comes down to one thing.

Are we more concerned with Sheriffs VanderHaar receiving money for protection of our elderly citizens?

 Or Mr. McCoy receiving money from a Corporation interested in bettering its profitability?

The answer is quite simple folks!

McCoy Triple Dipping?

     Adams county has an interesting race for Sheriff between two contrasting personalities.   It was actually quite refreshing to hear both candidates pledge to run clean campaigns and we had previously decided not to interject our opinion..

     Up until a week ago both candidates had kept that pledge.  That is when former mayor David Nuessen reared his ugly head and started to turn the McCoy campaign dirty as he has done in every election he has participated in for years.  Mr. Nuessen's, Cifaldi style personal attack, show no facts that substantiate his false claim. Furthermore our research has come to the conclusion that Mr. Nuessen's allegation is a blatant lie.  

     What brought us to writing this article is the fact that Mr. McCoy, having full knowledge of Mr. Nuessen's false accusatios, has allowed it to continue which brings his own credibilty into question.  McCoy has also allowed 19 time felony indicted former Sheriff Robert Nall, whom McCoy served as Chief Deputy under, to continue these dirty tactics.  As of late, McCoy has posted Nuessen's false allegation on his own Facebook page.  This false claim is a blatant attempt to hide from the one IMPORTANT issue of this campaign, the one Sheriff Vonderhaar in keeping with his clean campaign pledge has failed to mention.

      McCoy is receiving a pension from the Adams County Sheriffs Department.

   McCoy is receiving Social Security from the US Government.

   Are we the TAXPAYERS of Adams County willing to give Mr. McCoy a third government income?

Do we really want the Adams County Sheriffs department to go back to the CORRUPTION of these days?

It appears the Moore Administration has learned nothing from the recent drinking water fiasco.

This a picture of the water supply to Garden Court and the Quincy Country Club for the last 2 1/2 months.  Its become very apparent that Mayor Moore does not care about the City of Quincy's infrastructure or our citizens health and safety.  Or maybe he is hoping it will distill in the lines!!
